Southmead needs you!

Southmead Project is in with a chance of winning vital funding through  the Airbus Community Awards. The  awards, presented by Airbus in association with  Bristol Post, sets out to  celebrate the “unsung heroes of Bristol” by asking readers to nominate the most deserving community groups. The groups with the most votes  will  be in with a chance of winning  up to £3,500  to fund a  future project.

To help Southmead Project win this vital funding, we’re asking all our friends and supporters to collect as many Airbus Community Awards tokens as they can. Tokens will be printed in Bristol Post every day until Monday 20 March and they’ll also be running  bonus token days.

Please collect as many tokens as you can and post them to  Southmead Project (Airbus Awards), 165 Greystoke Avenue, Southmead, Bristol BS10 6AS. All tokens need to be with us by  Tuesday 21 March.

The funding will help us to continue our vital work of providing therapeutic and practical support to those who have  suffered childhood trauma.  Thank you.

50 most inspirational Bristolians

2:28 pm, February 8, 2017

On Friday 4 February Southmead Project  CEO Dr Mike Peirce MBE was named one of Bristol Post’s  50 most inspirational Bristolians alive today.

He joins the likes of multi-marathon runner Ben Smith, campaigner Fahma Mohamed, war hero George Johnny Johnson and  Games of Thrones actress Maisie Williams, who  have  been honoured “not only for their achievements … [but also] because they have inspired others with those achievements”.

As Bristol Post says, Mike has spent decades helping those affected by trauma and “inspired many to get back on their feet and restart their lives”.

We’d like to send our heartfelt congratulations to Mike  and thank him for his commitment and determination in  giving hope and a voice to   victims of abuse.
